Howard Drilling operates a number of remote sites each containing high-value assets and equipment.
A combination of increasing insurance premiums alongside the expense of a permanent manned guard solution on-site results in high costs when attempting to address the challenge of site security and theft prevention.
Howard Drilling required a cost-efficient solution that could secure their remote sites 24/7 whilst providing the capability to be re-deployed at short notice.
Howard Drilling Co. deployed the WCCTV Site Tower at a number of their remote sites. Each tower was autonomously powered via solar technology.
WCCTV’s Site Tower is an all-in-one mobile surveillance tower specifically designed for securing construction and remote jobsites, buildings and infrastructure on a temporary, permanent or mobile basis.
The Site Tower integrates an IR PTZ camera, multiple fixed and wireless motion detectors and audio speakers backed by high-end alarm monitoring and response, effectively eliminating the need for security guards.
By deploying the WCCTV Tower, Howard Drilling Co. was able to find a solution to a number of challenges and enjoyed a massive reduction in theft and loss on site.
Insurance premiums were reduced for equipment, as an adequate out of hours site security system was now in place, also saving on costs against manned guarding. Remote camera access enabled a reduction in site visits and provided retrospective high definition video footage to be used for training exercises and site analysis.
The WCCTV Tower was also able to provide time lapse video footage of the assets it was deployed and operational on site.
“We originally purchased the WCCTV video tower as a method of securing our high-value rental assets located on remote drilling sites – we quickly realised that the solution came with a host of extra features that we could use ourselves to reduce the cost of travel.
This became a benefit that we could also provide the site owner as a value-add project management and automation tool as well as helping reduce their insurance premiums and controlling sub-contractor activity on site”
